Unconventional Gas Resources



Horizontal drilling & multi-stage fracturing brought shale gas again to life, large areas are being used to drill a lot of horizontal wells and executing the hydraulic fracturing job.







That activity increased the number of rigs in America by 300%




They build a drilling pad, each pad consist of 6 to 8 wells in order to cover the entire area




Once done they frac those wells in order to increase productivity






One of the great fears that society & people have is contaminating the underground water







They are afraid that there is contact between the fracs and the layers above containing fresh water

 





Even with those fears, shale gas continue to grow rapidly




Many other countries are following US in shale gas drilling and numbers are increasing every years
